This is a traditional mento song from Jamaica. Mento is often confused with calypso, which has its roots in Trinidad and Tobago. I wove a couple bread ties ("twisties") in the guitar strings near the bridge in order to make it sound a little like steel drums, which are commonly played in the Caribbean.
